What to Take when planning a visit to Tunisia

If you visit May through October, pack light, loose-fitting clothes. Except on the beach, shorts and tops are not recommended for men or women. Keep legs and shoulders covered, especially in rural areas and when you plan to visit mosques. A hat and sunscreen are essential. It rarely rains from May through September, so a portable umbrella should be more than sufficient.

From November through March, coastal areas can be quite damp, and even the Sahara sees a little rainfall. Temperatures are cooler, though snow and freezing weather is very uncommon outside of mountain areas. Pack a raincoat, sweaters, and a warm jacket if you decide to go for mountain hiking.

April and October are generally intermediary months; pack both sweaters and rainwear as well as warm-weather clothes.
